How to Register Marriage in Pakistan:
In order to register your marriage in Pakistan, you have to hire the services of a licensed Nikah Khawan in Pakistan, or if you are obtaining the services of court marriage in Pakistan, then you have to hire the services of a licensed family lawyer in Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan has issued licenses to these professionals, and only a licensed professional can register your marriage. Just like only a doctor in Pakistan can prescribe medicine and operate on a human being, in the same way, only a licensed professional can register your marriage.
Now, the marriage can be of three kinds. First is Nikah at your home or at your own personal venue or marriage hall. Second is court marriage in Pakistan, and the third is online marriage in Pakistan. For the first service of Nikah at your own venue or marriage hall, you need to hire the services of a Nikah Khawan who is a licensed professional to register your marriage. However, for the second and third options, which are online Nikah or court marriage in Pakistan, you have to hire the services of a family lawyer in Pakistan. 1. Contact a Lawyer or Nikah Khawan in Pakistan
In order to register your marriage in Pakistan by CNIC, you can hire the services of a lawyer or a Nikah Khawan in Pakistan. There are many online platforms or search engines through which you can hire the services of a lawyer or a professional Nikah Khawan who has the license to register marriages.
2. Conduct Nikah Ceremony
The professional that you have hired in order to register your marriage can also conduct your Nikah ceremony at your own place, at his office, or at any mosque, venue, or marriage hall. If you are hiring the services of a lawyer, the lawyer can provide you the services of court marriage or online Nikah in Pakistan at his office or in court premises.
3. Licensed Nikah Khawan to Submit Nikahnama in Union Council
The Nikah Khwan is a licensed professional who has the authority and right to submit the Nikahnama in the Union Council. At the time of the Nikah ceremony, when both the bride and groom have signed the Nikahnama, he is authorized to submit the documents in the relevant Union Council. The parties themselves have no authority or legal right to submit it in the relevant Union Council.
4- Issuance of marriage certificate:
Once the Nikahnama is registered with the Union Council, you can obtain your registered Nikahnama from your lawyer or from the Nikah Khwan. After the registration of the Nikahnama, you are also entitled to obtain your marriage certificate. There is an extra fee for obtaining the marriage certificate. The marriage certificate is a digital document as proof of your registration of marriage in Pakistan.
